I am, among other things, the mother of six. I’ve spent my life thinking about how the world works and what makes people do the things they do. There’s so much I want to share with my children that I can’t imagine ever having enough time with each of them to have those conversations and tell them all that I’ve learned. For a few years, I’ve wanted to start compiling everything, from how to make crepes and caramelize onions to what I believe about God and the universe and all the little things about each of them that I have noticed as they’ve grown. As they all move on to their own lives, it would be nice for them to be able to have a searchable site with what their mom would say, so they can either accept or reject it, or update it with their own ideas.
Clearly, I have learned more about life from raising them, from making choices about what to do as a parent and from having them to love than I could doing just about anything else. I’m so grateful for each of them and their unique and irreplaceable selves and the honor of having them in my life.
